I am sad to announce that Betty Orth, who worked for Argyll and Campbell Hall in the 70’s and 80’s passed away last week. She is the mother of Argyll alum Mimi Orth.

Her service will be on Monday, Nov. 12th at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Recessional at Forest Lawn in Glendale. More information can be found by contacting Louise Macatee at macateel@campbellhall.org.

Wow! It is hard to believe we are in December already!! I hope this year has been filled with great times for all of you.

Speaking of great times, it is time for our annual Argyll Academy alumnae-faculty holiday get together at the Los Angeles Biltmore Hotel.

In past years, many of us have had an amazing time chatting with so many of our favorite Argyll teachers, as well as long lost friends.

Attached is the invitation for the event. If you are going to be in the Los Angeles area on December 17th, please join in on this amazing event that is the perfect way to wrap up the year. (Don’t to forget to accept by the 10th in order to get $10 off!)

Memorial notice for Debbie Brewster

As some of you may already know, we have lost one of our Argyll sisters.

Debbie Levy (Debra Brewster), class of 1984, passed away October 3rd.

According to Roshani Patel Le Done, who posted on Facebook, “her passing was unexpected yet peaceful. Her health had some complications, but were never to be considered life threatening. She went to take a nap and never woke. She has a beautiful son, Hunter, who is 17, as well as her parents and two brothers.”

There is also a memorial page on Facebook here.

The service will be on Sunday, October 23rd at noon, at the Lakeside Golf Club – 4500 Lakeside Drive, Burbank.

The family is asking that if you have any photos or memorabilia that reminds you of Debbie, to please bring it. It will be displayed on a memory table, and then returned to you.

Food and refreshments will be served.

Please feel free to pass this information along.

Kathy Griffin, class of ’82, has done another wonderful job this year as the team captain, getting this all organized.

You can get $5.00 off your registration fee if you register by February 15th deadline extended to Feb 28!

We have a couple of Argyll events coming up that I want to make you aware of.

The first is the 2nd annual “Share the Love” Valentine’s Day charity drive for the battered women and their children of Haven Hills shelter.

Attached is a flyer that will give you the information on it. Even if you no longer live in the Southern California area, feel free to pass this along to any friends or family you might have out here and have them get in touch with me if they have anything they would like to donate.

The second event is our annual “Revlon Run/Walk” event to raise money and awareness for women’s cancers. This event is open to Argyll alums, family and friends. Again, feel free to pass this information along to anyone who might want to walk or run with us in Los Angeles. It will be held on May 7th, the day before Mother’s Day.
