Subject: Argyll holiday tea this Sunday
Happy Holidays one and all!

Just a reminder that the Argyll Academy holiday tea at the gorgeous Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles is this Sunday, the 26th.

Many of you have asked about the teachers who will be attending. So far we are looking forward to seeing Julia Stesney, Betsy Roberts Santonastaso, Stephanie Heng and Nancy Hooker Savage. We will also received RSVP’s from alumnae from the classes of ’71, ’78, ’80, ’82 and ’84.

We would love to have you there as well. If you would like to join us for a really lovely holiday tradition, please shoot me an email.

Hope to see you Sunday.

Best wishes always,

Torie (’78)

Revlon Run/Walk 2010

Click to download the Argyll Revlon flyer

Hi all,

Attached is the flyer for the 2010 Revlon Run/Walk, in which Argyll Academy alumnae, friends and family will come together for the second year as “Team Argyll” to run, walk or sponsor in support of women’s cancer research.

Some of our classmates have battled, or are battling, breast or uterine cancer. For those of you who have won that battle, we look forward to being with you in celebration! For those who are still fighting, we will be there to support you!

The event will be on Saturday, May 8th so, if you are in town for that Mother’s Day weekend, we would love to see you there! If you can’t be there in person, it would be great if you could sponsor one your fellow alumnae.

In case you can’t open the flyer, below is just the text with the information.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or Kathy Griffin (’82), the team captain, who has done a wonderful job in making this event come together.

Thanks so much!

Chair, Argyll Alumnae Committee

Hi all!

Happy early Valentine’s Day!

In an effort to “Share the Love” with women and their children who are currently staying at Haven Hills, a shelter for abused women and children, the Argyll Academy Alumnae Committee is sponsoring a clothing drive.

Please take a look at the attached flyer and let me know if you have any items you would like to donate. If you no longer live in the Southern California area, but have friends or family who do, please pass this info along to them.

We will be doing pick ups of donations beginning this Sunday, Valentine’s Day, through the Sunday, February 21st. Just let me know when it would be convenient for you to have one of our alumnae swing by your home or office.

Thanks so much for helping out these ladies who certainly can use our help right now.

Best always,

Karen Angona

I just received this from Marcia Berman:

I received a call yesterday from Laura McKinzie ’80 letting me know that Karen Agona Nolan passed away on December 26th after a long illness. Karen was an alumna of Campbell Hall and Argyll Academy class of 1980. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Laura suggested that any donations in Karen’s memory be made to the Argyll Scholarship fund.

Marcia R. Berman

I remember Karen… she was a beautiful girl.

Our prayers are with Karen’s family.
